Letter D/Ducks Preschool Theme

Today we talked about the letter D and Ducks!
We did activities from Letter D for Ducks printables.
We used these finger puppets to do "Five Little Ducks"  which can also be a finger play, song, and we have a book with the words as well.
We have a few more duck books, but these are the ones we read today. Five Little Ducks (that can go with the finger play), Little Quack, and the classic book Make Way for Ducklings.
We had a subscription to Zoobooks at one time and they had an edition with Ducks so we looked through that book.  I read a few things, but mostly my son looked at the pictures.
We also looked at National Geographic for Kids for more facts about ducks.

Top Posts in 2013

My youngest son and I have colds that we have been battling with so we didn't jump back into preschool today as I had originally planned, but I hope to this week.

In the mean time I thought I would share my top posts of 2013.  It is fun to look back at what we've done the passed year and to see what is popular to other people.  So here is a look at my top five posts in 2013.

I hope to have a lot of fun doing preschool activities with my youngest throughout this upcoming year!

Letter D/Dinosaur Preschool Theme

Today we talked about the Letter D and dinosaurs!  Such a fun theme for my little boy and so many great ideas out there to pick from.
Visit Starfall to see their letter D activities

Here are a few activities from our Letter D as in dinosaur pack from Confessions of a Homeschooler.
There are lots of great dinosaur packs for preschool/kindergarten.  We also did some from Over the Big Moon.  Lots of great activities besides these as well.
3 Dinosaurs also has a lot of dinosaur printables.
We also did a dinosaur shape matching activity you can find here.
We did a fun flannel board story, "Dotty the Dinosaur".  It is a good story about colors.  My son helped me put the correct color of dinosaur up at the appropriate time.
I made these dinosaurs with my Cricut Machine and we made them into stick puppets. My son loves doing this and making up his own stories and playing with them.  Great for the imagination!
We did this cute paper plate dinosaur.  My son loves to paint as always! There are templates for different dinosaurs on the link.
Here is a list of great dinosaur books.  I know my kids love the "How Do Dinosaur" books and also "Dinosaur Vs. the Potty".
