Books, Helicopters, Field Trips, Angry Birds, and Celebration Lanterns!

Last Monday my two older boys made up their own stories and drew pictures for each page.

 On Tuesday we made Mini 'Copters out of an egg carton.  I found the idea here.  My boys have had a great time playing with those.

 On Wednesday we ventured out to an Aerospace Museum not too far from us that is FREE!  Yay.  I love when we can get out and all enjoy ourselves at no cost.  They loved looking at all the different airplanes.

 On Thursday we made these Angry Bird Crafts.  They were too hard for my boys to put together by themselves, but they enjoyed coloring them and playing with them.  You can find those here.

 Today we made paper lanterns which I called Celebration Lanterns since we used blue and red crayons to draw on white paper to celebrate Independence Day coming up in a couple of days.

Preschool Activities week of June 29-July 3

Evidently summer is upon us. Last week we didn't even touch a single activity for two of the days I had planned. We've been trying to clean and reorganize things around the house and have been doing a lot more playing outside. Needless to say for the upcoming week I have a bunch of things put together to do to get ready for the 4th of July. Here is what I've come up with.
Independence Day Activities

Science/Cooking	Pretzel Sparklers
Music/Gross Motor	Sing, "On the 4th of July" Blast Off Sing "The Star Spangled Banner"
Art/Fine Motor	Uncle Sam Hats Patriotic Chains Lincoln Penny Pendant Star Wreath

That's all I have planned for the week aside from doing some of the things I didn't get to last week. Summer is just like that, isn't it? Anyway, I do plan on emphazing the colors of the flag. He knows these colors already, but it is always a fun way to remind them.
