Ghost Preschool Theme

Today we talked about ghosts.  Sometimes you have to embrace the time of year it is and do silly little themes like this just for fun.

 Three Ghost Friends is hand down the number one place to go for all your ghosting activities.  Seriously, it is awesome.  Here are just a couple of the awesome activities in the picture below.  Dressing up your ghost in costumes and ghost shape matching.

I also told my son the story of the "Five Little Ghosts"  they disobey their mother and eat things that aren't white and turn different colors.  Here is one version of the story.

My son traced around a ghost template and made eyes and a mouth with a pen.  I helped him a little with the cutting around of the ghost.  We poke a small hole on the top and put some fishing line through it and we now have a little ghost hanging up.  We used some vellum since it is sturdy, see through, and I had some on hand.  You could use tracing paper or regular white paper.  My son does good imitations of things, doesn't he?  ;)

Ghost Preschool Theme

Today we had fun with a ghost preschool theme.  I personally hate Halloween, but I still try to make it fun for my kids and what better way than with a few friendly ghost activities.

My boys all love this flannel board ghost story.  There are several versions out there and I usually make up my own, but the link has a good obedience message tied in with it.

Three Ghost Friends is a site loaded and I mean LOADED with ghost activities for kids.  It is so awesome.  If you decide to do ghost activities with your kids it is a must see.  Here are just a few activities from that site that we did today.

This is a shape matching game.

 I am pretty sure this activity was my son's favorite of the day.  We spent a long time on it and went back to it when we were finished with other activities.  It is a little ghost costume activity.  The ghosts get to "dress up" in all these fun "costumes".  I spent the time to laminate these and I am glad I did because I think it will be getting a lot of use.

 This activity was practice for drawing shapes.

 Here is our little craft.  I helped my son paint his hand with white paint and then we put his hand on black paper for a little ghost.  After it dried I drew some eyes and a mouth on it.  My son cut around the ghost pretty much all by himself.  Here he is making a ghost face.

Ghosts

We talked about ghosts today.  One of my kids favorite stories at Halloween is about 5 Little Ghosts who eat foods they are not suppose to and change colors.  These are the flannel board pieces I use that I made with my Cricut Machine.

 I thought this ghost would be cute to hang up and it gave my son a good chance to practice cutting spirals.

 If you are looking for activities about ghosts to do with your preschooler or toddler Three Ghost Friends is a site you must visit.  We did these activities that I downloaded from that site.

 This little ghost idea came to me and I am glad he turned out.  I cut out tracing paper to look like a ghost, gave him a little face with a black marker, then attached him to a black piece of paper with an eyelet.

 My son was able to cut out and draw faces on his ghosts fairly easily as well.  Since they are only attached at the top I left them a little loose so if he moved the paper a little it looked like they were floating along.
