Letter G/Green Preschool Theme

Today we talked about the letter G and the color green!  We won't be doing preschool on Monday so I thought this would be our tribute to St. Patrick's Day.

My son made a "My Green Book" and helped me read it.

My son wanted to make a green caterpillar for a craft.  Here is his art work.

 We also went on a "Green Hunt"  searching our house and outside for green things.  Here he found his Kermit the Frog.

He also has this blankie, green frog that my mom made him when he was born that he sleeps and snuggles with.

St. Patrick's Day

I was busy planning birthday stuff and had visitors over so for St. Patrick's Day we did several things that we got from a packet at Oopsey Daisy.  She put together a great packet of a variety of activities from a varieties of sources.  Check it out here. 

My boys found gold coins with their shamrock this morning.  (They were actually Veggie Tale Easter gold coins because that's all I could find. lol)

St. Patrick's Day Countdown

My boys love doing countdowns so I came up with a little countdown for St. Patrick's Day that I think they will have a lot of fun with.

I found a Shamrock pattern on the Internet.  I used a variety of green patterned paper to use to cut my Shamrocks.

Each day starting on March 1st until the 17th I will hide a Shamrock somewhere and have my children find it.  Since they are young I will tell them which room I hid it in. Once they have found it we will hang it up somewhere around the house for decoration.  On the final day (St. Patty's Day) I plan on hiding some chocolate gold coins along with the Shamrock to help celebrate the holiday. 

P.S.  I didn't really know what the difference between a Shamrock and a Four-Leaf clover was so I looked it up.  Apparently, I should have cut out a Three-leaf clover to be true to the St. Patty's Day tradition.  If you are looking for luck on an average day, a Four-Leaf clover is more appropriate.  You learn something every day!
