Owl Preschool Theme

Today we talked about owls for preschool!  I find this a fun theme to do in the Fall.
I find this Owl Tot-Pack so cute and it is filled with great activities as well.
Here is one of the activities, matching the shape in the tree with the bird that has the same shape on it's stomach.
I decided to see how my son did with a simple word search for something different.  It went well.  He found it challenging, but not so difficult that he gave up.  You can print it off for free here.
We had fun counting to 100 by 10's with these cute owls.
My son is not big into coloring, but he does enjoy making puppets.  I think he really likes playing with them once they are made.  He glued on pieces to a paper bag to make a cute owl and colored a little bit on it.
The paper bag owl was inspired by this idea.
We also enjoyed some videos about owls.  Here is a video with a song called Ten Little Owls.  This video called Lovely Owls shows different species of owls.

You can check out our 2013 post about Owls and my 2012 post with my middle son.

Owls Preschool Theme

Today we had a good time talking about owls.
There are some very cute printables of owls out there.  I think this one may just be the cutest printable pack I have seen.
Totally Tots has  great list of owl activities including this fun owl.  We were out of cheerios to make into an o, but we had apple jacks.  My son wanted a white owl so he didn't color it.
This is a cute number tracker activity with owls.
We changed up this craft a little, but it still the same idea for a paper plate owl.  I used brackets instead of having my son glue the wings to the paper plate.  I did this last year with my middle son and I remember him wanting the wings to move.
We also watched a video clip that I found here along with some more great owl activities.

You can also check out last year's post about owls here.

Owls

There are a lot of really cute and fun owl stuff available for free out there.  My son had a great time doing patterns with this free printable.
We practiced counting to ten with these completely adorable owls that I found here.
One large and awesome Owl Preschool pack that includes this shape matching activity that I found last year.  It's part of her free section.
Totally Tots has some fun owl activities including these downloads.
This word search was great for introducing my son to word searches because it had simple words.
This coloring page is so awesome that I colored one myself and my oldest came home and saw them and asked me to print one for him to color too.
Of course, my son wanted some kind of owl craft so I found this cute paper plate owl.  He had a blast painting and helping me glue the pieces together.  I used brackets to attach the wings so he could move them.
