Bats Preschool Theme

Today we talked about bats!
My favorite book about bats is "Stellaluna".  I read this book to my son and then we used these printables to figure out the order that things happened  in.
This bat flyer is a fun printable that you cut out, fold in the right spots and put a paper clip on it.
The picture at the top shows the bat unfolded and here is my son with him all folded and ready to fly.  He wanted bat ears which is why he has his fingers on top of his head.  :)
3 Dinosaurs has a Bat and Spider pack.  I used some of the bat activities with my son.
He had to get his bat in on some tracing action.
Here are some rhyming cards that end in -at.

Check out my bat themes from previous years.

Bat Preschool Theme

Today we talked about bats!
We read Stellaluna by Jannell Cannon and used this freebie to help go over what happened in the story.
We also played with these -at rhyming cards.  We talked about what each card started with and the sound that letter makes and how they all end the same which means that they are rhyming words.
We also folded these bat flyers and had fun flying them around.  Here is what the bat looks like unfolded
Here is what it looks like folded and ready to fly.
My son also colored on this bat coloring page.  I was surprised that he wanted to color instead of paint, but I am glad he switched it up.

Bats

We read Stellaluna by Janell Cannon to start out our bat day.  I found some cute free activities to go along with this book here.
Crayola's website also has some fun bat and other Halloween activities that I printed off for my son to do.  He wants to be a bat for Halloween so it was a great theme to talk about what bats are like.

We also played with these bat rhyming cards.

You can check out what we did last year here.

Bats

Today we talked about bats.  We read a cute story called, "Stellaluna".
We made this bat art project with my son's hands, paint, glue, and some wiggly eyes.
I came across these rhyming "at" words on The Home Teacher's site and we had a lot of fun with them.  She also has a whole collection of bat activities she has put together.
