Pumpkins

Our pumpkin theme was spread out over a two-day period.  This was another theme that you could spend a lot of time on and we squished all we could into two days.  We had a lot of fun though.

Gathering Time:

Sing “Pumpkin, Pumpkin” and do the actions

Ever-Changing Pumpkin Faces

Pumpkin Sequencing (this isn't what I used, but unfortunately I wasn't able find my source for them)
Pumpkin Faces Poem (This is a poem and visuals I had in my filing cabinet)

Focus Activities:

Pumpkin Seed Count (I loved Confessions of a Homeschoolers lacing card pumpkin so much I used it for this too.)
Cut open a pumpkin and take the seeds out

Paint Pumpkins

Other Possibilities:

RESOURCES:

Did you make it to the end of this post?  As I mentioned, we did a lot of pumpkin stuff and we only skimmed the surface of what's out there.

Heather, thank you so much for sharing all your great ideas and resources! I got some great stuff here to use in my preschool in the next few weeks. I'm impressed with all you do for your little boys, they are lucky to have you for a mother.
