Letter M/Mouse

Today we talked about the letter M and we read Mouse Count by Ellen Stoll Walsh

To add some extra fun while reading the story I made a snake puppet, a mason jar, and some cotton balls for the mice and had the puppet pick up the "mice" as we counted.  After that we read the book again and I let my son use the snake puppet to put the mice in the jar.  You can find this idea here as well.  My snake is rather boring and I left the cotton balls basic.  You could go a few steps more and actually make mice.
Homeschool Share has some printables that go along with Mouse Count we used a cutting activity.
We also made a letter M mouse.

Letter M/Monkey Theme

Today we talked about the letter M and did monkey related activities.
Confessions of a Homeschooler also has printables that go along with an m&m theme.  We did several of those as well, but focused on monkeys since I don't have any m&m's on hand.
My son painting away on his letter M.
I also painted his hands and we tried to make his hand prints look like the letter M.  I think it worked, but he informed me that it did not look like an M to him.
We also sang one of my favorite preschool songs "Five Little Monkeys" teasing Mr. Alligator.  I also found the cutest stick puppet printables.
